6G Prototyping in the Upper Mid-Band (7-24 GHz) at NYU WIRELESS (2025)

This project demonstrates a cutting-edge prototyping platform for 6G research in the upper mid-band spectrum (7–24 GHz), also known as FR3. By integrating open-source software (OpenAirInterface), software-defined radios, and advanced hardware such as Pi-Radio front-ends and Xilinx RFSoC systems, the platform enables end-to-end wireless experimentation. It showcases two key demonstrations: a fully operational communication link and an O-RAN-compliant open radio unit (O-RU), along with a high-resolution channel sounder for precise RF propagation measurements. Together, these innovations provide a flexible, open, and scalable testbed that empowers researchers and industry to explore, prototype, and advance next-generation 6G wireless technologies.
